Privacy Policy

In short: Docklane collects no data about you. There are no accounts, no cloud and no analytics. The app talks only to the servers you enter yourself.

What the app processes

Docklane is a Mac application with no backend service of its own. All data stays on your device or goes straight to the server you connect to.

  • Credentials: username, server address and port are stored locally in your user folder. Passwords live exclusively in the macOS keychain and are never written to files or transmitted anywhere except to the server you are signing in to.
  • Connection data: bookmarks, recent servers, backup profiles and trash entries are files in Application Support on your Mac.
  • Host keys: for SFTP, Docklane stores the server's fingerprint locally so future connections can be verified against it.
  • File versions: before an upload overwrites an existing file, Docklane keeps a copy of the previous version locally. Those copies never leave your Mac.

What the app does not do

No sign-up, no user accounts, no telemetry, no crash reports to us, no advertising, no sharing with third parties. There is no Docklane server your traffic could pass through.

Network connections

The app connects only to the servers you enter, and to nothing else. Two exceptions exist and both are triggered by you:

  • The "Claude Code" button in the terminal downloads Anthropic's install script onto your server and runs it there. Using Claude Code is then governed by Anthropic's privacy terms and your account with them.
  • The "Open Link" button hands a URL detected in terminal output to your default browser. Docklane does not open the URL itself.

App Store

Purchase and delivery run through the Mac App Store. Apple processes payment and purchase data under its own terms. We only receive anonymous, aggregated sales statistics from Apple, from which no individual can be identified.

Your rights

Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing on our side to disclose or delete. Everything the app stores lives on your Mac and can be removed at any time: passwords via Keychain Access, everything else by deleting the Docklane folder in Application Support in your user folder.

Changes

This policy is effective 25 August 2026. If the app changes, we update it here.
